We offer pre-employment credit checks as part of a pre-employment screening package or as a stand alone service. There are a few central organizations that gather this data and can provide a credit report on individuals and businesses, and those organization are different country to country. Our skilled professionals can obtain a credit report for you and if you are unfamiliar with how to read a credit report we will gladly review it with you. As mentioned, we obtain the information for our reports from many different databases, which include an enormous number of records, and frankly the more broad a search the better the quality of the data that can be garnered from it. Thorough pre employment screening should also include a consumer credit check.

About this policy

It is our policy to maintain the confidentiality and privacy of any personal data voluntarily submitted to us in writing, electronically through our online order/delivery system or while visiting our website. This policy explains your rights as a customer of TPS and privacy in the performance of our international services and the rights of candidates for whom we may maintain personal information on your behalf. These rights are set out by the Safe Harbor Principles, European Directive on Data Protection 95/46/EC, Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act), Codes of Practice as set forth in The EU Employment Practices Data Protection Code, Part 1: Recruitment and Selection, Internationally accepted Fair Information Handling Practices, and all other applicable US and International Laws where Information related to applicant screening. The policy explains why we require your personal information. It will cover what we do with your personal information and what you can expect from us in return. It will also explain how to obtain a copy of any personal information we may hold about you.
The policy will not replace the above mentioned international privacy provisions. It will show how TPS will comply with these provisions when processing your personal data.


International Screening Solutions, Data Protection Policy / Privacy

This is a statement of Data Protection policy adopted by TPS. TPS needs to collect extremely sensitive and personal information about individuals and use certain types of information about people with whom it deals with in order to operate. This information may include, but is not limited to, full name, previous names used, Social Security Number or other overseas country national identity numbers, dates of birth, phone numbers, residential address, credit information, employment history, academic history, and criminal record history. In addition, it may occasionally be required by law to collect and use certain types of information of this kind to comply with the requirements of government departments for business data, for example. We provide employment screening services only to businesses with a permissible purpose. We release information via telephone, fax, mail and electronically, only to the individual(s) or business(s) that originally requested the service. Under no circumstances will personal information collected and maintained in our databases ever be sold or provided to an outside entity for any purpose. This personal information must be dealt with properly, however it is collected, recorded and used - whether on paper, in a computer, or recorded on other material - and there are safeguards to ensure this meets Internationally Accepted Fair Information Handling Practices. This Privacy Policy covers the information practices of TPS and describes the principles TPS follows with regard to information submitted by our clients and their applicants and employees, and to other data that we collect from third parties and other sources in connection with the services we provide. These information privacy principles have been implemented by all TPS personnel regardless of their location. All data shall be collected, stored and used in compliance with applicable law, which may include the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA"), individual state background screening and privacy laws, the European Union Data Protection Directive and other national laws. We regard the lawful and correct treatment of personal information by TPS as very important to successful operations, and to maintaining confidence between those with whom we deal with and ourselves. We ensure that our organization treats personal information lawfully and correctly. To this end we fully endorse and adhere to the Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA"), US Safe Harbor Provisions, Principles of Data Protection, as enumerated for example in the European Directive on Data Protection 95/46/EC, Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act) and Internationally Accepted Fair Information Handling Practices. Notice

Our clients provide us with your personal information in connection with our preparing a report for such clients. (These reports are referred to by several different names including: Background Check, Consumer Report, Investigative Consumer Report, Background Screening Report, Background Report, and others.) In all cases, our clients have certified to TPS that they will provide disclosure to their applicants that a background investigation will be performed and that personal data may be gathered for the purpose of completing the Background Investigation Report. Our clients further certify to us that they will receive consent from an applicant before a Background Investigation Report is requested. Personal information gathered may include your history of employment and other credentials related to your prospective employment. TPS will use such information only for the purposes of performing employment screening and credential verification services, including to verify the accuracy of the personal information and to check on references. In addition to the data that is submitted to TPS by our clients, TPS may collect data from third parties as needed to process certain academic, residential, achievement, job performance, attendance, litigation, personal history, credit reports, driving records, criminal history records and other lawful checks. A Background Investigation Report may be prepared summarizing this information. Prior employers and/or references may be contacted, and the report may include information obtained through personal interviews regarding the applicant's character, general reputation, personal characteristics and/or mode of living. We may provide all such information to our client (your current or prospective employer) in one or more reports. TPS may also collect email correspondence from visitors to this site who send email to TPS.


Choice

If you are a U.S. resident and you do not wish to have your personal information made available to our client (your current or prospective employer), please do not authorize our client to procure a Background Investigation Report. By consenting to the procurement of a Background Investigation Report, and submitting information to our client, you are agreeing to allow TPS. to disclose information about you to our client and to our sharing that information with our subcontractors.
If you are a European Union resident or reside in other countries where TPS is doing business, you may choose not to submit personal information to TPS through this web site or through forms provided by our client for that purpose. You have been provided an international consent form either by us or our client. By filling out and submitting the international consent form you expressly agree to provide personally-identifying information, and you consent to our use of that information in accordance with TPS privacy policy.


Onward Transfer

In connection with our providing services, we may in some instances, employ other companies and individuals as our subcontractors to perform functions on our behalf. All such contractors are contractually obligated to use and maintain the confidentiality of personal information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy. These companies may not share any such information with any third party, other than TPS's subcontractors or clients. Except as described in this Privacy Policy, or required by law, we will not use or otherwise disclose any of the personally-identifying information that you provide or that we collect from third parties or other sources.
TPS has taken and will continue to take appropriate measures to assure the security of personal data. Any personal data transmitted to or from TPS's web site is protected by a secure socket layer (SSL) key which encrypts the data transmitted over the Internet. Personal data on our servers is stored in a secure manner. Access to those servers and data is strictly limited to authorized personnel of TPS, who have been trained to protect against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of personal data under TPS control.


Access

All subjects of consumer reports have the right of access to any reports TPS. produces and maintains on them. You may contact TPS, as set out at the end of this Privacy Policy, at any time to determine whether we hold any personal information about you and to obtain access to that information. For your protection, we will require proof of identity, including proper verification and confirmation that you are the individual who is entitled to request access, before providing information to you. If, for good reason, we are unable to provide you with access to your data or to correct data, we will let you know. Otherwise, we will mail to you if you are a U.S. resident a copy of the report about you within 7 days, as it has been provided to your current or prospective employer, at no charge (as mandated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.).
If you are an EU resident or a resident of any other country where TPS is doing business, you may contact us at any time to determine whether we hold personal data about you and for purposes of reviewing your personal information.
